Step 1: Meet with the student and their family, and develop a relationship for effective coordination in the future.

  • First, meet with the student and their family (first consultation is free).
  • Go over current high school transcript, courses, and other info important for college/private high school applications, including cost, distance from home, etc.
  • Create a schedule for taking standardized tests (SAT/ACT), subject tests, and other academic exams.
  • Assist in deciding on what other extra curricular activities to participate in, both during the school year and during the summer.
  • Plan out all academic activities – as well as extracurricular activities – on a monthly and/or weekly basis in the final two years of high school.

Step 2: Create a list of fitting schools to apply to, while also arranging school visits to have a better feel for them.

  • Help in planning out and scheduling visits to a variety of schools.
  • Assist in collecting information about all the schools constantly throughout visits, as well as answering questions about their admission policies and other related topics.
  • Coach on correspondence with admissions representatives before and after visits, and how to set up appointments with faculty and explore extracurricular arenas.
  • Provide assistance in maintaining communication with school admissions representatives throughout the process.
  • Make preparations for college interviews, as well as deciding where and when to participate in them.

Step 3: Finalize a list of schools to apply to, and provide assistance with completing the college applications.

  • Create a final list of schools to apply to, with many options, and sorted by different categories of priority.
  • Assist in coming up with essay topics for both the primary personal essay, as well as supplementary essays.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for essay revisions until satisfied.
  • Whether it is the Common Application or another application, provide general assistance with the application, including what additional documents to add, what achievements to list, etc.
  • Ensure that there is good communication with teachers and/or academic counselors for recommendations.
  • Decide on possible schools to apply to using Early Action and Early Decision.
  • Review applications once complete, and ensure that deadlines are met.
